2:11:50 – 2:15:003:10 long

Mackwop reviews commentary about J. Cole stepping back from rap feuds and Kendrick Lamar focusing on philanthropy over media spectacle.

Mackwop continues watching commentary discussing the broader fallout of the 2024 hip-hop landscape. The commentator outlines at 42:05 how Drake's album references indicated tension with J. Cole after J. Cole chose to withdraw from competitive rap disses earlier in the year.

The video details how Kendrick Lamar handled the post-beef period, noting at 43:50 that rather than staying locked into online disputes, Kendrick Lamar shifted his focus toward community efforts and personal appearances, including surprising a young fan in Detroit on the local news.

Mackwop reflects on this contrast at 44:40, observing that top artists who possess confidence in their position do not feel compelled to constantly engage with gossip channels or social media narratives.
